Chief of Staff (Remote, US)
About Inevitable Foundation
Inevitable Foundation is a non-profit that invests in disabled writers and filmmakers so they can achieve artistic and financial freedom and use film and television to destigmatize disability and mental health globally. Disabled people make up over 20% of the population but represent less than 1% of writers and filmmakers behind the screen and only 2% of the characters on-screen. Our signature programs provide disabled creatives with the job placement, professional development, funding, networking, and mentorship they need to reshape the entertainment industry.
Inevitable Labs, our innovation-focused division, explores and develops new business lines and initiatives to expand and sustain our impact.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic, resourceful, and ambitious Chief of Staff to serve as a trusted right-hand to the President. This role offers a unique growth opportunity to help shape the future of a fast-growing organization by executing new and existing business strategies, conducting financial analysis, spearheading market research and bringing new initiatives to life.
The Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization operates at its highest potential, identifies and capitalizes on growth opportunities, and delivers on its mission to transform the entertainment industry for disabled creatives and audiences alike. Duties and Responsibilities
About the Principal
Our President is a hands-on leader who thrives on rapid iteration, data, and momentum. He embraces a “move fast, learn fast” ethos, rolling up his sleeves alongside the team to refine strategies in real time. He juggles a sizable portfolio of priorities and thrives on context switching between projects that require different types of thinking.
His communication style is direct, with minimal fluff, and the org largely operates on a pull (instead of push) communication norm.
He has very high standards for his own work and that of the organization, given the lack of focus and investment the disabled community has historically had access to.
He generally works a 9 hour day and sometimes sends emails at off hours, but doesn’t expect the team to be “on” outside of their own workday. He works hard because he’s passionate about the work, but doesn’t work long hours and weekends.
If something is on his mind or wants to share feedback, he will share it sooner than later, as he doesn’t like things to fester.
The organization thrives on a highly-collaborative, best-idea-wins ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
Identify and validate new revenue opportunities through qualitative and quantitative research, strategic insights, and lean experimentation.
Design and lead experiments to test new business lines, including defining hypotheses, success metrics, and learning agendas.
Monitor industry trends and emerging opportunities to uncover high-potential initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and capabilities.
Develop business cases, financial models, and go-to-market strategies to support decision-making and prioritization of new ventures.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to pilot and refine new offerings.
Synthesize findings and recommend next steps—to pivot, persevere, or scale—based on data and impact potential.
Support the President in surfacing big-picture strategic opportunities and translating them into actionable business development plans.
Executive Support
Serve as a trusted partner to the President, managing information flow, prioritizing initiatives, and representing the organization in strategic discussions.
Support the President with writing and preparing memos, team updates, presentations, and correspondence for both internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the President’s cross-departmental priorities to drive efficiency, enhance collaboration, and achieve organizational objectives.
Maximize the President’s leverage through process innovation and ruthless prioritization.
Coordinate with the Board of Directors, preparing tailored materials, reports, and briefings to support governance and decision-making.
Jump into high-priority projects on an as-needed basis to keep pushing them forward and delivering results.
Financial Analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes through robust financial analysis.
Work closely with Operations to optimize resource allocation.
Analyze data and trends to provide actionable insights that guide programmatic and advocacy priorities.
Aligned Communications
Collaborate with program and advocacy teams to align messaging and create impactful public-facing content.
Craft donor-specific materials, grant proposals, impact reports, and persuasive donor communications, ensuring alignment with the organization’s messaging framework, strategic goals, and consistent voice across all materials.
Support the Head of Research with the development of evaluation frameworks and metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
We value passion and a willingness to grow. If you meet 70% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
Proven track record thriving in a startup-up environment and taking ideas and turning them into reality.
Highly resourceful, scrappy, ambitious and undaunted by the constant ups-and-downs of scaling an organization and launching new business lines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
