  • Accessible Picket Line & Cooling Station

    Inevitable Foundation supported disabled picketers at the WGA strike by providing snacks, chairs, and accessible bathrooms at the picket lines. At a second event, we provided a cooling station on the WGA and SAG-AFTRA picket line at Disney Studios. Our mist fans and free cooling towels helped picketers beat the scorching heat.

  • Concierge Anniversary Celebration

    Inevitable Foundation brought together leading philanthropy, non-profit and DEI leaders for the one year anniversary of the Disability is Diversity Campaign. This event was co-hosted non-profit leaders AAPD, CAA Foundation, Caring Across Generations, Group Effort Initiative, and Weingart Foundation, and featured speakers such as Andraéa LaVant and Ai-jen Poo.

  • Comic-Con: Disability Representation On and Off Screen Panel

    The foundation a panel at Comic-Con exploring disability representation both on-screen and behind the camera, raising the profile of disability as an essential pillar of diversity, as well as celebrating the diversity that exists within the disability community. Panelists included Lauren Ridloff (The Walking Dead), Jillian Mercado (The L Word: Generation Q), and Josh Feldman (This Close).

  • STARZ #TakeTheLead Summit: The Power of Allyship

    Co-founder Richie Siegel appeared as part of the first ever STARZ #TakeTheLead Summit, focused on amplifying narratives by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences. Alongside P-Valley actor and advocate Nicco Annan, The Black House Foundation Chairman Brickson Diamond, actress Frances Fisher, and Vida creator and executive producer Tanya Saracho, the panel covered the state of improved media representation, including its impacts and ongoing efforts to increase the presence of diverse creatives.

  • The Hollywood Reporter Raising Our Voices Luncheon

    Inevitable Foundation co-founder and president, Richie Siegel, attended The Hollywood Reporter’s inaugural Raising Our Voices Luncheon, where he spoke to the necessity of disability visibility in Hollywood. Influential and inspiring executives, storytellers and thought-leaders — including Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur, Geena Davis, Wilmer Valderrama, and GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis — were also presented for a series of discussions on the state and future of Hollywood’s DEI movement.

  • PopShift: Disability Leaders Panel

    As part of a panel co-hosted with PopShift: Disability Leaders, Inevitable Foundation brought together 45 showrunners and executive producers and 45 disability leaders and disabled writers to discuss ways to increase disability representation on-screen. Guests included showrunners and creators from The Handmaid’s Tale, Friday Night Lights, How I Met Your Mother, Peabody Award-winning directorJim LeBrecht, writer and creator of #DisabledAndCute Keah Brown, and disability advocate and president of Google’s Disability Alliance Aubrie Lee.

  • Closing the Disabilty Representation Gap in Kids & Family TV

    This virtual panel, co-hosted by Inevitable Foundation and the Nickelodeon Writer’s Program, examined common misconceptions about disability in the kids space, and strategies for successfully pitching and writing authentic characters and storylines with panelists Shaina Ghuraya (writer, Boones and Curses), Jenn Lloyd (writer-producer, K.C. Undercover), VP of Animation Development at Nick Kari Kim, and Sr. Manager of Live-Action at Nick Linda Halder.

  • Accessing the Industry: Engaging and Empowering Disabled Writers

    In partnership with Inevitable Foundation and the WGAW’s Disabled Writers Committee, this panel explored the experiences of disabled film and TV writers, from the challenges of navigating the entertainment industry to the role accessibility plays in their writing process to how non-disabled writers can make the storytelling process more hospitable and inclusive for disabled writers to thrive.
