This six-month rewriting sprint gives disabled film and television writers $40,000 in funding and bespoke guidance towards developing a spec script. Through writing groups, one-on-one mentoring, support from the Inevitable Foundation staff, and access to leading film and television writers, fellows will have what they need for a market-ready project.

This six-month program uses targeted financial and community approaches to help even more of Hollywood’s disabled writing community elevate their careers. Grants fund necessary coaching, education, mentorship, work-from-home equipment, and IP acquisition needs while the cohort provides opportunities for intimate community connections for advice, feedback, networking, camaraderie, and more.

This year-long program aims to help disabled writer-directors successfully leverage a short into their feature debut. Each fellow receives a $55,000 grant to cover costs related to filming, accessibility, marketing, healthcare, and more, alongside intracommunity support via their cohort, mentorship opportunities with leading Hollywood creatives, capsule courses covering every corner of the filmmaking process, script consultation, and guidance in packaging their feature.

This free-to-use, go-to service has connected over 250 showrunners and 800 creative executives with professional disabled writers for staffing and development needs. We find the best disabled writers — including WGA members, those with professional credits, and/or representation — across all professional levels, and make curated recommendations based on the project’s specific requests, irrespective of whether the creative focus is on disability.
