Filipe F. Coutinho

Filipe Coutinho is a writer and filmmaker living with OCD with a passion for character-driven, inclusive, and commercial stories. He has been featured on the Annual Black List in three consecutive years with WHITTIER, JAMBUSTERS, and PATSY. The latter two have been set up and are currently in pre-production. He’s also working with C2 on a Valentine's Day set slasher, and John M. Chu’s Electric Somewhere on the adaptation of his short story IF THE FATES ALLOW into an ongoing TV series. Filipe is a recipient of the Inevitable Foundation’s Elevate Collective Award and Visionary Fellowship, a Black List Feature Lab alum, and a two-time finalist of the Nicholl's Fellowship. His unique cultural perspective is highlighted by his background. Filipe emigrated from a small town in Portugal and knows intimately the challenges of being an immigrant in America.
